Class Structure

The following are the 14 official Championship Classes. These descriptions are not to be construed as the only rules for the classes. Refer to the current year IKF,SKUSA, and/or Rotax Max Challenge rule books for the complete class rules. Refer to www.lakc.org for our series rules, or obtain a copy at registration.

New: All minors, drivers under the age of 18,must present certified proof of birth. Original birth certificate, passport,drivers license, or proof of a 2011 active IKF membership will be accepted. Uncertificed copies are not accepted.

Challenge Local Series

Per Rotax Challenge Rules.
Series participants will receive a punch toward participation at the Rotax Grand Nationals.

Rotax Masters	VPMS93 Rotax XPS Synthetic (50:1)	405lbs	32 and up or 16 and up if over 190 lbs.	Spec Tire Dry Mojo D2 Wet Mojo W2	Official age is 32. The age of 32 must be reached by December 31, of current year. Competitors of competition age less than 32 years old (competition age) must reach the attained age of 16 by December 31, of current year and have a minimum driver weight of 190 lbs including all race apparel except helmet. Carburetor Combination #1 OR #2 - Needle Jet K-98- 12.5 insert – floats marked with gr5.2. Idle jet marked “30” digits Idle jet insert marked “30” digits. Carburetor Combination #2 - Needle Jet K-98- 8.5 insert - floats marked with gr3.6. Idle jet is stamped with “60” digits. Idle jet insert is stamped with “60” digits. Intake silencer - Original Rotax, Filter "Version 2 "New style mandatory. SKF main bearings are not allowed. Rotax Passport Required.

Rotax Junior	VPMS93 Rotax XPS Synthetic (50:1)	320lbs	13-16	Spec Tire Dry Mojo D2 Wet Mojo W2	Mandatory use of a junior cylinder without exhaust valve. Competitor must reach the actual attained age of 13 by December 31, of current year. No junior class competitor may attain the actual age of 17 years old prior to December 31, of current year. SFI Approved Chest Protector recommended. All minors must present certified proof of birth Carburetor Combination #1 - Needle Jet K-98- 12.5 insert – floats marked with gr5.2. Rotax Mini Max SFI - 20.5 Approved Chest Protector Mandatory	VPMS93 Rotax XPS Synthetic (50:1)	265lbs	9-12	Spec Tire Dry Mojo D2 Wet Mojo W2	Mandatory use of junior cylinder and restrictors as specified by Rotax, or other restrictors that may be required by the USRMC Rules Primer. National spec. gear is 13 x 82. SFI Chest Protectors mandatory. Competitors will be required to reach the attained age of 9 before competing in the Mini Max class. All minors must present certified proof of birth. Blue or Black anodized 267535 or stainless steel “Rotax” intake restrictor mandatory. Carburetor Combination #1 (only) - Needle Jet K-98- 12.5 insert – gr5.2 floats Idle jet marked “30” digits Idle jet insert marked “30” digits. Fuel Testing and Sample Fuel is specified and must pass any test presented by the official tech personnel. The "sample" fuel will be VP-MS98L with Burris Castor or Burris Blend Pre mix oil at 20:1 Ratio. Rotax Motors VP-MS93 with Rotax XPS Synthetic @ 50:1 Ratio. Stock Shifter classes VP-MS98L with Kal-Gard. "Built" Shifters VP-C12 and Kal-Gard. Participant is allowed one "fuel check". Any DQ is at the discretion of the Post Tech Supervisor. His decision is final and not pro testable.
